Pinata Introduction

Traditional Pinata

The Pinata Game is the high point in any party! Follow below instructions for the safest and most enjoyable results:

1. Fill the Pinata - Find the opening on the back or top of the Pinata. Look for the white sticker on flap. Press in and fill with treats. If you do not find the sticker or the flap, carefully cut a small hole or flap approximately 3 inches on either back or top side of the Pinata to create an opening for the treats.

2. Hang the filled Pinata above the heads of children by using a rope to securely fasten it to a tree or long pole.

3. Playing the Pinata game - Use a non-splintering stick to hit the Pinata. The birthday boy or girl should get the first turn. Smaller children should be next to ensure that all have an opportunity to play before the Pinata breaks. You may want to blindfold the children one at a time and let them each have a spin or two. Guide the child to the Pinata and let him/her hit it once or twice with the Pinata buster stick. Younger child may not need blindfolds.

4. Raise the Pinata and hold it out of reach to signal the end of a turn. When the Pinata breaks, take the stick away to prevent injury.

Pull String Pinata

If there are strings coming from the bottom of your Pinata, you have a Pull String Pinata! Pull String Pinata is a popular alternative to the traditional Pinata. It has been designed with the young in mind. To play Pull String Pinata, you do not hit or break the Pinata. Instead of swinging at the Pinata with a stick, children open it by pulling the correct string. Follow Steps 1 to 2 for the traditional Pinata game as mentioned above. For Step 3, give each child a turn to pull a colorful strings hanging from the bottom of the Pinata. All but one of the strings will pull off in their hands. The one magical string will open the secret trap door of Pinata, releasing the favors and goodies to the ground. The other strings will come off without incident. We recommend 1 Pinata per 8 children so that everyone will have a chance to play.

You may choose options to add on Pinata buster stick and/or blindfold before add to cart for your chosen Pinata.

Safety Tips

An adult should be present to supervise the game. Give clear instructions to the children before beginning the game. Make sure children are standing back at least 20 feets whenever someone is swinging the Pinata stick. Tell each child to put the stick down before rushing to retrieve the toys and candy which fall from the broken Pinata. Safety measures must be emphasized. Keep away from open flames or fires as Pinata is flammable.

Have a great game time!
